John N. Treadway (1797-1884) and his wife Rebecca McKean Treadway (1800-1884) married in 1822 and settled in Cass County, Illinois in 1830, moving to Beardstown in 1844. Their 10 sons included Edward (1834-1861) and Martin L. (1839-1910). Martin served in the 3rd Illinois Cavalry (1861-October 1865). He married Maria Mary Murphy (1856-1932) in 1872 and they had three children including Elmer Chesterfield Treadway (1891-1971), who worked for the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Railroad. ...
